1. Team ownership:

Being an athlete does not simply mean stepping out onto your prospective playing surface once a week, practicing and then doing it all over again the following week. It can be much more if you choose for it to be. Most aspiring athletes don’t realize that Kobe Bryant and Lebron James may be making millions of dollars, but the owners of the teams they play for are really making the money. I AM SPORT is here to nurture those entrepreneurial skills that are inside every one of us, and demonstrate to young athletes how they can go above and beyond the norm and embark upon team ownership. You don’t have to just play, what about owning the team you play for? By introducing these ideas and then cultivating their desire to make it happen, together, we can raise the bar of what is expected of athletes.

The idea for I AM SPORT, INC. stemmed from our founder’s 2007-2008 soccer season with Greensboro Soccer Club. There were two players on his team from Sierra Lyon,Africa. They had one form of transportation that hindered them from getting to and from team practices. Other parents on the team had to form a schedule to pickup and drop off the two boys after practice. This made a huge impact on the performance of the team, because this predicament did not simply apply to practices, but to games also. As two of the better players, if for some reason they could not be picked up, his team suffered drastically from their absence. Having bore witness to this unfortunate situation, his heart instantly turned toward helping athletes achieve their personal, athletic, and educational goals.
